How the coronavirus will change your next dentist appointment

We are excited to announce that Michael R. Errico DDS, FAGD, FICOI, PC & Associates have re-opened for non-emergent and elective dental care. Caring for the communities we serve is our top priority. As we phase back into normal practice, a few things will be different at your upcoming visits. Check out the temporary process changes we have put in place for the safety of our patients and the team. We’re looking forward to seeing you soon.

Michael R Errico & Associates has used the most up-to-date procedures long before COVID-19, and we want to reassure patients they continue to be an important part of our daily routines.

Because of the COVID-19 virus, we will be implementing additional protocols to protect all those who step into our practices.

Here are some of the new procedures you can expect:

  • Prior to an appointment, we will ask every patient a series of health screening questions and will take their temperature. If a patient is not feeling well or has an elevated temperature, we will ask them to reschedule their appointment.
  • We will request that all visitors wear a mask or face covering to their appointment or we will provide one to them when they arrive.
  • We will ask that patients come alone to their appointment. The exceptions are parents/guardians accompanying children, people providing emotional/physical support, and translators.
  • We will require patients to wash their hands before and after their appointment.
  • We will request that all visitors maintain a 6-foot distance from others while in the practice.
  • We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in our office at any one time.
  • Doctors and team members may wear additional personal protective equipment, such as face shields, during exams/treatment.
  • Finally, we have always taken pride in our office efficiency with all appointments running “on schedule”. Please be patient with us during this time as we implement these additional safety precautions.

Our doctors and team members have worked extensively to ensure your safety and wellbeing while in our care. We want to ensure you can feel comfortable visiting us at your next appointment. As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your regular DR. Michael R. Errico DDS, FAGD, FICOI, PC & Associates

Laser Dentistry and Dental Insurance Coverage

Laser Dentistry and Dental Insurance Coverage

You’ve heard good things about laser dentistry and want to try it.

But, you don’t know if your insurance covers laser dentistry and you don’t want to be stuck with a huge dental bill!

The good news:

Laser dentistry is covered by insurance.

However, another factor can affect whether or not your insurance covers your treatment.

We will cover:

  • What laser dentistry is and what it can do for you
  • Hear some first-hand experiences of patients who have used laser dentistry (video)
  • Explain when laser dentistry is and isn’t covered by dental insurance
  • Show why you should choose our dental practice for your laser treatment

What is laser dentistry?

Laser Dentistry has successfully been in use for decades. But recent advancements in technology have put lasers in the spotlight as the next wave in forward-looking dentistry.

The word laser means “light amplification by the stimulated emission of radiation.” In other words, a laser uses concentrated light energy to do its job.

At Michael R Errico General & Laser Dentistry, we use advanced and powerful Solea and Gemini lasers to perform everything from common to complex procedures, such as:

  • Removing tooth decay
  • Placing fillings
  • Treating periodontal disease
  • Gum contouring
  • Treating canker sores
  • Exposing wisdom teeth

Laser dentistry makes it possible to have these treatments with no shots and no drilling.

Thankfully!

Listen to what patients like you have to say about their treatment with the Solea laser.

The thought of having to deal with dental needles and drills keeps many people from getting the dental care they need. However, laser dentistry is gentle, painless, and quicker than traditional methods.

Alright, so laser dentistry is fabulous.

Will your insurance cover it?

Lasers and insurance

As we mentioned earlier: Laser dentistry is covered by insurance.

That’s because dental insurance works by covering specific dental procedures regardless of how the treatment is done!

In other words, it’s by procedure, not technique. Your dental company covers you for treatments, such as fillings or periodontal treatment, whether a laser or some other means is used to do these.

So, is laser dentistry covered by your dental insurance?

It will depend on what procedures your dental insurance plan covers.

How do you know about your dental coverage?

Our administrative team is trained to work closely with you and your insurance company to make sure you are getting the full advantage of your dental coverage. We accept most PPO insurances, including:

  • Delta Dental
  • Aetna
  • Regence
  • BCBS
  • Humana
  • Premera
  • Metlife
  • United Health Care
  • Cigna
  • Guardian
  • And more

We also accept CareCredit and offer our patients without insurance the benefit of our in-house insurance plan. There are plans available for both individuals and families.

October is National Dental Hygiene Month – Michael R. Errico, DDS

The most ideal approach to celebrate is to consider your present dental cleanliness propensities and perceive how you might have the option to improve! It is safe to say that you are brushing for a long time? Is it true that you are brushing enough?

Also, here is the unavoidable issue – would you say you are flossing?

That is the one that many delays to state “yes” to – myself included. In any case, it is essential to recall that flossing is instrumental in your general dental cleanliness. What preferable time to begin over this month?

A brisk Google search can uncover hundreds – perhaps thousands – of articles about how significant flossing is. The advantages of flossing day by day incorporate

  • Cleaner breath
  • Healthier teeth
  • Lower possibility of gum sickness
  • No more bleeding gums!

That last one may appear to be a surprise, yet it is valid! As per Mike Errico Dental, flossing would overall be able to free your gums of microorganisms – in this manner halting the draining that may ordinarily happen.

Maybe the main way you can observe National Dental Hygiene Month is by visiting your neighborhood dental facility. On the off chance that you qualify, Dr. Mike Errico Best dental specialist in Rolling knolls couldn’t imagine anything better than to commend this month with you!

CURE YOUR SENSITIVE TEETH

CURE YOUR SENSITIVE TEETH

Don’t feel like you’re alone if you occasionally experience pain when you eat hot or cold food or sometimes when you brush your teeth. Many people feel the effects of sensitive teeth to one degree or another, and there are several ways to effectively deal with this problem.

Hypersensitivity in the mouth occurs when the dentin underneath the protective layers of your teeth and roots becomes exposed and allows hot or cold food and drinks to hit the nerves inside your teeth. Receding gums and tooth decay are major culprits, along with exposed tooth roots and worn tooth enamel and fillings.

So you may be wondering what can be done to cure your sensitive teeth. Well, the first step involves determining what’s causing your problem. A visit to Dr. Michael R. Errico DDS, FAGD, FICOI, PC & Associates will help establish the exact source of your sensitivity— and better yet— help determine the best solution to alleviating your pain.

One solution for your specific pain could simply involve the use of desensitizing toothpaste, which helps to block the transmission of hot or cold sensations to the nerves of the teeth. Dr. Errico might also apply a fluoride gel to strengthen your tooth enamel and reduce the possibility of sensations reaching the nerves. Other solutions involve crowns, inlays, bonding, surgical gum grafts, and root canals, depending on the severity of the problem.

Your sensitive teeth are letting you know something is wrong, so be sure to schedule an appointment with Dr. Errico before the problem gets worse. Just visit mikeerricodds.com/contact-us/ or call 847-788-0808 and take the first step toward dealing with your sensitive teeth.
